Why online?

It's a valid question, and one I get asked a lot. I've been providing online therapy for years and  I find that it's more convenient for you and makes me more accessible to you!

 

You're busy.

Therapy is important. But it's probably not the only important thing you have going on in your life. Online appointments take less time overall, allowing you to spend more time on what matters most.

Saves time.

Online therapy means you don't have to sit in traffic, or drive long distances to see the right therapist. It also means that you can take less time away from your other responsibilities - work, childcare, school - while still getting the help you deserve.

 

Convenience
Get help from wherever you're most comfortable. Who wouldn't want to do therapy from their own couch, in their pajamas?

DOES IT WORK?


Studies show that online therapy is as effective as in-person counseling. You are still interacting in real time with a trained counselor that you can see and hear.


IS IT SAFE?

Your information will be stored in an encrypted database that is compliant with all fhealthcare privacy laws. The video feed that we use for our sessions is also encrypted, ensuring confidentiality & the protection of your information. I use Zoom for our sessions.

 

IS IT EASY?

Once your first session is booked, you'll get an email with a link to set up your online account through Simple Practice.

From there, you'll have access to everything you need: consent forms, payment info, scheduling, and secure messaging so you can communicate with me. You can also download an app to do it all from your smartphone.

Ten minutes before every appointment, you'll get an email with the link to the secure video session.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED

Internet
If you can reliably stream videos online (Netflix, Youtube) or FaceTime, your internet connection is probably fast enough for online therapy. A Laptop, Desktop or Smartphone will work.


You'll get a link to the session in your email. You can open it in an app on your smartphone, or in a browser on your computer. Any internet-capable device with a camera will do.

 

AND.... A CUP OF COFFEE !

Privacy
You'll need a space that you can talk openly without worrying that you'll be overheard.
